Richard Matthew Empringham, 61, of Las Vegas, Nevada, died on July 31, 2026. He was born in Burlingame, California, to Virginia and Richard W. Empringham.

Richard devoted more than 40 years to technology and managed services, primarily serving the hospitality industry. He genuinely loved his work and, by all accounts, was brilliant at it. His knowledge, dedication, and talent earned him the admiration and respect of his colleagues throughout his long career.

Outside of work, Richard had an adventurous spirit. He loved road trips and international travel, embracing every opportunity to discover someplace new. He treasured the freedom of a motorcycle ride and enjoyed playing with his “big boy toys,” especially his remote-controlled cars.

Richard adored his niece and nephew, Madison and Zachary, and treasured the time he spent with them. He visited every Christmas. While they were growing up he attended Madison’s community theater performances, built projects and raced remote-controlled cars with Zachary, and even traveled to Europe to visit Madison while she was studying there. He often spoke of them with great affection to his family, friends, and co-workers

Richard will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Memorial service details will be announced at a later date. Richard will be laid to rest with his parents in Denver, Colorado.
