Robert "Riese" Frederick

June 23, 1964 — February 28, 2023

Robert "Riese" Frederick passed away in a motorcycle accident on February 28, 2023. Robert was born in San Diego on June 23, 1964, to Donald Frederick and Janey Devore. Never one to sit still, Robert's life took him all over the country as he pursued adventure after adventure, always seeking his next great success. His travels would eventually land him back in California where, in a kismet event, he responded to an ad for a roommate and met Dennis. A brotherhood was born, and it would last through 2 states and almost 20 years.

A metal and rock and roll devotee, music wove its way into the fibers of Robert's everyday life, and one could always count on the sounds of Pink Floyd, Metallica, Black Sabbath, and Stevie Ray Vaughan to be emanating from wherever he was. He once won tickets to see Pink Floyd by entering a costume contest where he painted half his bum black and when the lyrics "I'll see you on the dark side of the moon" played, he jumped onto the bar, showed his "moon", and the tickets were his.

A lifetime Harley Davidson lover, Riese's passion for the Harley life would lead him to meet many great and loyal friends, including Just Larry whom he respected deeply. He also held a great love for all things Tolkien. It was his "Pink Floyd" of books and movies and Riese was always up for a LOTR marathon or a written journey to Middle Earth.

Robert leaves behind his greatest accomplishments, his daughters Aryca, Olivia, and Amelia, and his grandson, Noah. His relationships with his girls were each unique in their own form. He was endlessly proud, baffled, and amazed by their strength and personalities. They were unapologetically themselves and Dad loved that about them more than anything else in this world. Though he had many passions, none of them held a candle to his passion for being a Grampa to Noah. Noah was his pride and joy, and Robert was excited to share his zeal for life with his boy. Noah shared a love of things with wheels and Robert looked forward to teaching him about motorcycles and taking him on rides and adventures abound.

Robert also leaves behind the mothers of his beloved daughters- Marybeth and Judith, his brother Steven, his Aunt Carol, and numerous friends and family. He was predeceased by his truest friend Bella who was his faithful, furry companion for 17 years, as well as his great friend Edgar, his mother, and his father.

Dad will be deeply missed by those closest to him. He went out of this world on his Harley and landed his place in Rock and Roll heaven. So here's to you, Dad. We'll see you on the dark side of the moon.
