Sherrill “Sherri” Anne Cotton Rodriguez, 78, passed away on July 10th, 2023, in Henderson, Nevada.

Sherri was born in Laramie, Wyoming to Albert Cotton and Helen Grand Ayre on October 31st, 1944.

Sherri was a graduate of Laramie High School class of 1963. She was married to Steve Rodriguez from 1962 to 1985. She worked for the Albany County School District as a cook and retired from Linford Elementary as a custodian. Sherri cherished time with family and her dogs, spending time in the Snowy Range Mountains, and collecting stamps when she visited national parks. She also enjoyed traveling to new locations in the U.S. and visited relatives in Norway in 1962 and 2019. She moved from Laramie to Henderson in 2013. As a long-time “hockey mom”, she was eager to support the Vegas Golden Knights and attended every home game from day one and celebrated the win of the 2023 Stanley Cup.

Sherri is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers William Cotton, and John Cotton.

Sherri is survived by her children, Jo Marie Paintin (James), Tim Rodriguez (Sue), and Amy Rodriguez; grandchildren, Jenifer Paintin, J.R. Paintin, and J.D. Paintin (Kimberly); and many loving family and friends.

Sherri’s family will host celebrations of life in Laramie, Wyoming on August 12th, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm (open house) at Altitude Chophouse and Brewery and Henderson, Nevada on August 26th, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm (open house) please contact the family for location details. The family encourages guests to wear Vegas Golden Knights (any hockey team) apparel or casual attire.
