Steven L Eckols, 74, of North Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on July 31, 2026, in his home. He left behind a legacy of love, kindness, and service.

Steven was born in Gonzales, Texas, on July 20, 1952, to Lewis B Eckols and Barbara Davis Eckols. He graduated from Gonzales High School and from Sam Houston State University in the 1970’s. Later in life, he received a Masters Degree in Education and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

After undergraduate school, Steven joined the Army where he eventually became a Recruiter in California and Hawaii. He retired from the military after 21 years and embarked on a new career as a Middle School teacher at a number of schools in California and Nevada. It was a privilege for him to serve his country and interact positively with his Middle School students.

Steven is preceded in death by his parents, known as Honey and Bobbie Eckols, and survived by his sister, Debra Eckols and her partner, Tim Miller, of San Marcos, Texas. His ashes will be lovingly scattered at the Greenville Cemetery in Gonzales beside his parents and his brother-in-law, Blaine Moulding. Donations to the American Cancer Society or any other chosen charity will be greatly appreciated.
