It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Sanford Reece Jr. 85, Father, Grandfather and Great-grandfather of North Las Vegas, Nevada. He passed away peacefully at his home on October 14, 2024.
Tom was born in Los Angeles, California to Thomas Sanford Reece Sr. and Artiemacy Henrie Reece on April 20th,1939.
He spent time during his childhood roaming around the Henrie Ranch in the Meadow Valley Wash. He attended school in Las Vegas at the 5th Street Grammar School. During his middle school years he lived in the Redondo Beach area and attended school with his cousin Katie. Returning back to Las Vegas, Tom attended Las Vegas High School graduating in 1957. While taking care of family matters in Las Vegas he worked for Centel as a mechanic in their shop. He was encouraged to pursue a degree from a close friend and mentor. Around the age of 23 he attended the College of Southern Utah. While attending college in Cedar City, he met Georgiann Thompson. They were married May 28,1966 in the St. George Temple. They resided in Logan Utah while Tom worked to receive his Automotive Engineering degree from Utah State University. After graduation they moved to Lafayette, Indiana. Where he worked for Ross Gear Division of TRW designing power steering pumps. Due to health issues he returned to the dry, Las Vegas desert. He was an educator at Vo-Tech High School with the Clark County School District for 30 years, his field of expertise was automotive technologies. He helped many students along with his own children learn the ins and outs of a vehicle.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints faithfully serving in various callings throughout his life. Family History and genealogy were an enjoyable pastime that led him to serving a mission at the Family History Library in Downtown Las Vegas. He enjoyed serving his community, spending many years serving in the Army National Guard and as a Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America. He was a devoted husband and father. He always showed up for his family. He spent his free time cheering on the sidelines of sporting events, enjoying musical concerts and dancing recitals of his children and grandchildren.
Thomas Reece is preceded in death by his Father Thomas Sanford Reece Sr. and Mother Artiemacy Henrie Reece.

Grandchildren: Mikal (Josh) Cox, Thomas Derek (Mariah), Sabrina (Jeremy) Longo, Amber, Alexandria (Blakemore) Laycock, Kelsie, Taylor, and Treyson, Katelynn (Gabe) Call, Amanda Reece (Kyler) Wrigley, Annalyse (David) Jacob, Julia (Kenneth) Mower, Macy, Melody & Hermana Jenna Stevens, Laila & Levi
Great Grandchildren: Mason, Brody & McKenzie Cox, Brayden, Kylie & Noah Longo, Michael Reece & Austin Spierer, Charlotte Laycock, Kenneth Oliver & Logan Mower
Visitation will be Saturday, November 2nd 10:00-11:30 am held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Cannonville, UT.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 2nd 12:00 pm Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Cannonville, UT. Burial will follow at the Henrieville Cemetery. Arrangements are by Davis and Southern Utah Mortuary.
