Toni Shanell Gartrell

Toni Shanell Gartrell, 28, formerly of Stafford VA died Thursday, February 17, 2022, in Las Vegas NV.  The daughter of Gregory and Valerie M. Gartrell, Toni was born in the United Kingdom on December 29th, 1993.  Toni graduated from North Stafford High School and attended California State University-Los Angeles, before joining the United States Air Force as a Security Forces Specialist.  After separating from the service, Toni moved to Los Angeles CA, and then to Las Vegas NV where she was a Medical Billing specialist.

Toni had an infectious smile; she was fiercely independent, loved to travel and experience new adventures; California was her favorite place to live and visit.  Toni was very athletic and spent several years in competitive cheerleading and track and field, during her middle school and high school years.  She remembered all family trips, birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays.  Toni would always worry about others well-being before her own; she will be sorely missed by all who came to truly know and love her.

Toni is preceded in death by her grandfather Wilson Baker.  Toni leaves to cherish her memory, her parents Gregory and Valerie M. Gartrell of Stafford VA, two brothers Jamel G. Gartrell (Kecia) of Fredericksburg VA, Isaac A. Gartrell of Fredericksburg VA, one sister Valentine A. Nowell of Dover DE, one nephew Elijah N. Gartrell of Fredericksburg VA, one niece Brianna M. Gartrell of Fredericksburg VA; Grandparents Gladys Baker of Stafford VA, Alvin and Leanna Rich of Mt Pocono PA, and Henry Gartrell of Savannah GA; also, a host of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.  She will also be missed by our military family that took her in and loved her like their own.

Toni was truly a free spirit and wishes to spend eternity on the West Coast, so her ashes will be spread over the beautiful State of California at a later date. Cards, condolences, and letters of sentiment may be sent to 48 Rocky Way Dr, Stafford VA 22554.
