Ty Aziz Lauderdale

July 19, 1995 — June 16, 2025

Las Vegas, Nevada

We are heartbroken to share the sudden and unexpected passing of Ty Aziz Lauderdale in Henderson, NV. Ty was big in stature with a larger-than-life personality, known for his intelligence, humor, prankster nature, billion-dollar smile and knack for living in the moment. He was caring, giving, compassionate, and always brought laughter to those around him.

Ty’s presence touched so many and he will be remembered for his infectious smile and vibrant spirit to his family and all his friends. He came from a supportive, devoted, close-knit family. His loss has left a profound void in his family's lives and cherished friends.

Ty graduated from Rancho Cucamonga High School. He was a two-time Scholar Athlete and three time All-League while ending his senior year as an Iron Man Champion. He graduated with several offers to play football in college in California and other states but he accepted a football/track and field scholarship at Menlo College in Palo Alto Ca. He played as a defensive lineman captain of the team and threw shot put & discus on the track and field team. Ty became a scholar athlete at Menlo college with two years on the deans list. He played football across the U.S. and in Montreal, Canada, being the first generation back in his Great Grandmother’s birthplace. He felt her spirit guide him on the football field.

He was hired as one of the college resident assistants and was a positive academic role model for the on campus residents maintaining their safety, organizing and leading multiple programs for over 300 residents. Ty was hired as a Stanford University event Manager and was voted student body president for Menlo college during his academic career. College students looked forward to him hosting the annual Apollo Night at Menlo and closing the show with his rendition of Soulja Boy, “Crank That Dance” on stage. He was a member of clubs on campus including Accounting, Black Student Union and The Pacific Islander Club where he performed the traditional HAKA Polynesian war cry dance celebration at events in the Bay Area with other members as well as at his football games.

He graduated from Menlo College with a Bachelor of Science (B.S) in Business Management majoring in Accounting, Marketing & International Management. He was the Financial Executives International Annual scholarship award winner. Received an internship with the Big 4 Global Accounting firm KPMG and was hired as an Audit Associate in Santa Clara upon graduation from Menlo College.

He continued his career as a Senior Accountant for three more accounting firms in Walnut Creek, Long Beach and San Jose.

Ty traveled to other countries and enjoyed visiting new places he had not been to in the U.S. with friends and his family. He also loved coming home engaging in being super competitive with his family games of monopoly, Clue, Trivial Pursuit and several more. He also enjoyed working out, outdoor sports, recently intricate puzzles with his mom and video games. He loved spending time with his family going to several places like shows, outdoor events but repeated visits to Disneyland and Universal Studios was a must. Those that went had to experience a race against time getting fast passes and riding every ride in the park several times, lunch interfered with the goal, homemade sandwiches.

Ty came from a devoted and close-knit family. His passing has been especially hard on his family. His mother,Tyra, is a dedicated school teacher, and his father, Mark, a distinguished 32 year career L.A.P.D. officer recently retired. Ty’s siblings, Ericka and her beautiful kids, Amari, and Trent, are devastated by this loss. We will carry a piece of Ty in our hearts of support, inspiration and love. His loss has left a vast empty space in our lives, as well as in the hearts of all who knew him.
