Virginia Gwynette “Gwyn” Cook

Gwyn Cook, 73, passed away unexpectedly at home in Las Vegas on February 28, 2026, at the age of 73.

Gwyn was born August 4, 1952, in Battle Creek, Michigan, and graduated from Comstock High School with the Class of 1970. She later attended evening classes at Kalamazoo Valley Community College to earn an Associate’s Degree. She worked as an Executive Secretary at Upjohn/Pfizer in Portage, Michigan, retiring after nearly 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her father, Euless “Les” Toddy; her grandmother, Ruby Long; and her beloved little dog and travel companion, Sophie.

Gwyn is survived by her loving mother, Riggie Toddy; her brother, Larry (Shelly) Toddy; her sister, Jan (Terry) Simpson; her daughters, Jennifer (Gregg) Marsh and Kristie (Jeff) Newton; and her cherished grandchildren who lovingly knew her as Nana: Peyton and Gavin Marsh, and Cole and Sawyer Newton. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Gwyn spent the last 18 years living in Las Vegas, where she lovingly cared for her parents. She enjoyed quilting and sewing, watching professional tennis, and never missed The Price Is Right with Drew Carey or her daily soap operas.

She loved traveling the country in an RV with her mom—often affectionately called “Thelma and Louise”—with her little dog Sophie along for the ride. In Las Vegas, Gwyn enjoyed her visits to Arizona Charlie’s Casino and trips to Laughlin to collect her “free” gifts and enjoy time away.

In 2021, Gwyn appeared on Dr. Pimple Popper (Season 6, Episode 5), where she underwent life-changing surgeries.
