Vivian Allard

Vivian Lee (Mefford) Allard passed away peacefully Saturday 4/29/23. Vivian was born to Jewell and Everett Mefford in Bakersfield, CA on 3/24/37. She married Herbert Allard on 12/31/54 and together they had three children Dennis Allard in 1955, Dwayne Allard in 1959 and Darla Allard in 1965. Vivian and Herb moved from Bakersfield, CA to Las Vegas, NV in 1968 where he worked as a Sheet Metal Worker and she was a full time Homemaker.
Vivian became a Grandmother for the first time in 1977 to Christy McCanna and again in 1996 to Laura Aston and in 1997 to Misty Allard. In 1993 she became a bonus Grandmother to Christina Forrester. She upped her Grandmother status to Great-Grandmother in 1998 with the arrival of Abyghale McCanna. Oh how she loved her girls.
A few years after Herb passed away she went to work for Iron Specialists, then for Austin Electric and continued working for Advantage Electric until she retired.
In 1999 Vivian took on the role of guardian for Misty which filled her life with more purpose and joy.
Vivian was filled with the gift of the Holy Ghost as a child under the guidance of Bro. IH Terry in Bakersfield, CA and was a faithful and devoted member of the Apostolic Church of Las Vegas for over 50 years. She loved her church and her church family fiercely.
Vivian loved her fashion, she loved to shop, she loved to read and she loved a good party. She was known to be feisty, fashionable, sassy and fun.
Vivian was preceded in death by her father Everett in 1940, her mother Jewell in 2009, her husband Herbert in 1989 and her son Dwayne in 2018.
Vivian is survived by her son Dennis (Cherryl) Allard of Cedar City, UT, daughter Darla Allard, sister Shirley King and her granddaughters, Christy (Drew Osen) McCanna all of Las Vegas, NV, Christina (Josh) Forrester of Cedar City, UT, Laura (Cameron) Aston of Chubbuck, ID, Misty (Jake Carothers) Allard and great-grand daughter Abyghale (Darien Equipado) McCanna both of Las Vegas, NV and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be Saturday 5/13/23 at 10:00 am at the Apostolic Church of Las Vegas 1665 S Lindell Rd with graveside to follow at 1:00 pm at Davis Memorial Park 6200 S Eastern Ave.
