OBITUARY

Anthony Bentino La Mantia (Chef Tony) (37) was born in Torrance California on Oct 27th, 1984 and was taken home on June 5th, 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He lived in Las Vegas where he was a gifted Chef and touched people with his infectious personality. Anthony lived in Torrance for the first 14 months of his life then moved to Downers Grove where he lived with his grandparents Nani and Papa. In 1994 the family packed up and moved to Henderson, Nevada where Anthony went to high school and played football for Basic Highschool.

Anthony is very known for his love of sports, cooking, and how he treated others. When it came to sports, he loved the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Cubs, and Chicago Bulls. He wouldn’t miss a game. Unless he was cooking of course which was his #1 passion in life and pursued most vigorously.

Anthony helped open Therapy in downtown Fremont, helped run Sparrow in Wolf on Spring Mountain, and finally was going to help open Half Bird Chicken and Beer. Anthony attributes much of his success to his mentor Chef Brian Howard who took him under his wing and gave him a hand up into the Las Vegas Chef community, where he began to make friends and a name for himself that people loved and respected. When he’d walk into a room, he would put a smile on everyone’s face and give everyone one of his big bear hugs that we all remember so well. He would always put others before himself. Caring for his friends and Family. He truly was a great son, brother, cousin, and friend. And showed that love to everyone he came into contact with.

He will be missed. He is survived by Ben La Mantia Jr (Brother) (CA), Antonet La Mantia (Sister) (IL), Tina Weck (Aunt) (NV), Eva La Mantia (Aunt) (IL), Kim Spietz (Aunt) (NV), Louis Sorrentino (Uncle) (AZ), Dominic (Diane) La Mantia (Uncle) (IL), Dominic (Jesse) La Mantia (Cousin) (IL), Jason Howard Jr (Cousin) (NV), Dina (Nick) Hoday (Cousin) (IL), Joseph Howard (Cousin) (CO), and many more. His Memorial will be held at Davis Funeral Home, 1401 S. Rainbow Blvd Las Vegas, Nevada 89146 from 12pm-5pm on June 25th, 2022.
