David Naif

November 27, 1944 — June 12, 2022

David Lee Naif, 77, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away on June 12, 2022, of natural causes.

David was born in Livonia, MI to Diab and Mavis Naif (Hizulka) on November 27, 1944.

David loved life and his family just as much as he loved living in Las Vegas.  David moved to Las Vegas as a single father with two young children in 1968 to chase his dreams.  He caught a couple of dreams as he raised two responsible children.   He most loved working at the Bellagio Poker Room and being a part of the action. In semi-retirement, he loved driving for Lyft so he could still be a part of the action and share his knowledge of the area.

His friends and family called him “Vegas Dave”, “Cool Dave in Vegas” and “Dave the Rave” because he lived the Las Vegas lifestyle and enjoyed watching the explosive growth in the town and “giving the tour” of the great valley to family and friends when they visited.  Red Rock, Lake Mead, Boulder Dam, and Mt. Charleston were all required stops.  Sometimes he would try to do them all on the same day. Of course, there were the casinos.  Dave the Rave has probably been to every casino built and razed in the city to play a little Keno machine or Video Poker. Yes, he was a little crazy, but we loved him dearly and he will be sorely missed. Vegas lost a good one.  We all did.  Rest in Peace Vegas Dave!!

Services are being scheduled at this time.  In Lieu of flowers, please make a donation on his behalf to the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, Wounded Warriors, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, or ASPCA.

David is preceded in death by his father Diab, his mother Mavis, his brother Ronald Naif, his sister Renee Naif, and his brother Gary Hizulka.

David is survived by his spouse Ly Thi Luu To and her son Chozen To, his son Daniel and his wife Linda Naif, his daughter Dawn Naif, his sister Marla Turner, his sister Sheree Rousey, his sister Connie Bruner, his brother Jimmy Naif and his grandsons Danny Naif and John Dunn.
