Denis Christopher-Ryan

October 1, 1956 — July 2, 2021

Denis Christopher-Ryan was born Dennis Edward Davis, on October 1, 1956 in Flint, Michigan to Julius Edward and Beverly Ann (Washington) Davis. Denis attended Flint Southwestern High School, graduating in 1974. Denis worked in retail at Hughes & Hatchers, Genesee Bank, and retired from Genesee County Mental Health, after 20 years of service. Denis relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2001, where he resided until the time of his passing. Denis was employed at Dillard’s and later began working at the Luxor Hotel & Casino as a front desk agent, where he remained until going to be with the Lord. Denis had a bigger than life personality, a contagious smile, a distinct laugh, and was born for Vegas. Denis was very creative and artistic and his talent was displayed in his drawings and beautiful penmanship. Denis loved reading, music, dancing, luxury cars, clothes, and jewelry especially rings and watches, and was meticulous in everything including his appearance.  Denis loved his family, friends, and coworkers, he was loved by all, making everyone feel special. Denis had a “life of the party” spirit and loved spending time with family, friends, and his extended family. Denis was a very spiritual person having a deep relationship with God and strong faith convictions.

Denis leaves to cherish his memory: his sister Deborah Hardy; brother Duane Davis; both of Grand Blanc, MI; one nephew Brandon (Amanda) Hardy; two great-nephews Malcolm and Lincoln Hardy all of Holly, MI; special cousin Gail Henry of Nashville,TN; and best friend Candelorio Valdez (Gonda) of Commerce, MI; and a host of relatives, and friends.

Denis was preceded in death by his parents; Julius and Beverly Davis; grandparents Charles and Earline Washington, Joe Davis Sr., Freeman and Bettie Simpson Sr., Aunt Sharon Fry and Uncle Bertrand (James) McElroy.

The family would like to express special thanks to Andy Meese, the General Manager of the Luxor Hotel & Casino, and the entire Luxor staff, including Donna Coleman, Tabrina (Bri) Jenkins, Mary Hendrickson, and Ebenezer Ministries of Burton, MI for their support during this very difficult time.
