Eric Achatz, 49, of Henderson, passed away on July 9th, 2021 in Las Vegas.
Eric was born in Queens, NY to Viven and James Achatz on July 29th, 1971.
Eric grew up in Wantagh New York and is a 1989 graduate of Wantagh High School where he was active in Football, Baseball, Boy Scouts and Theater. Eric enlisted into the US Navy where he served on the USS Nicholas. Eric moved to Las Vegas in 1995 when he started dating, his wife of 19 years, Karen. He began a career as a corporate trainer in 1997 and has dedicated his career to helping others grow and learn. Eric last worked as a Training Supervisor for United Health Group. Eric was a massive sports fanatic and was the most passionate New York Jets Fan and made sure everyone knew it. Eric enjoyed cruising to the Bahamas over 20 times, visiting San Diego and most definitely loved hanging out at home playing his PS5 or watching sci-fi and ghost shows with his beloved trio of dogs and his wife. Eric loved holidays, a great meal, poker games and fantasy football. He lived every day with a handsome smile on his face trying to make everyone around him better. Eric was passionate about providing homes to rescue dogs and in lieu of flowers we ask for donations to your local animal shelter.
Eric is preceded in death by his father James Achatz in 2006 and his beloved dog DJ, just two weeks before his passing.
Eric is survived by his wife, Karen, and a trio of his beloved dogs. His mother Viven, brother Stephen (Annmarie) and his niece and nephews, his in-laws, Jane and Larry McKenna and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Viewing will be 9:00am – 11:00am on Monday, July 26th, 2021 at Davis Funeral Home located at 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00pm Monday, July 26th, 2021 at Boulder City Veterans Cemetery.
