FAITH CHRISTINE (GANTNER) REMPE

Faith Christine (Gantner) Rempe was surrounded by her loving family when she was peacefully welcomed home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and heard “well done good and faithful servant” on September 28, 2022 after a hard-fought 11-month battle with bone marrow cancer.

Faith was born on July 1, 1991, in Bay City, Michigan and grew up in Midland, Michigan where she attended The Midland Academy of Advanced and Creative Studies for many years. After graduating from Bullock Creek High School, she attended Central Michigan University obtaining a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism. It was at Central Michigan University that Faith met the love of her life and future husband, Kurt, whom she would marry on June 18, 2016.

At 10 years old while watching the local evening news, Faith announced she would be a television news reporter/anchor one day at the very station she was watching. That dream became a reality when she was hired as a reporter and anchor at WNEM TV5 in Saginaw, Michigan just before her college graduation. For over three years, she loved covering stories all over mid-Michigan including extensive coverage of the Flint Water Crisis. During her honeymoon, she received a call from a sister station, KVVU-FOX5 Las Vegas and two months later she and Kurt moved cross country as she continued her career as weekend anchor and reporter in Las Vegas, Nevada for the next three years. On October 1, 2017, near the end of her evening shift anchoring the 10pm news, the call came into the station about a horrific shooting at Mandalay Bay. Faith stayed on the air throughout the night for another 9 hours to bring the latest news about One October and received an Emmy nomination for that coverage. Faith loved being an on-air personality, but after six years in broadcasting she found a role that she loved even more: motherhood. Thus, she paused her career after the birth of their first son to become the most extraordinary, full time stay-at-home mother.

Faith had several accomplishments throughout her life. Some of those highlights include an Emmy nomination in broadcasting; Best News Anchor and Best Multimedia Journalist awards at Central Michigan University for two years in a row; Miss Michigan National Teenager where she was selected 3rd runner-up out of 50 state contestants at the national pageant in Nashville, Tennessee; national winner of Target House Contest through Seventeen magazine to volunteer at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital for a week; and first place state winner in the public speaking category for Business Professionals of America.

Faith is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Kurt; her sweet and adorable toddler sons, Henry, age 3 and Charles, age 1; mother, Sandie (Finn) Bobryk; father, David Gantner; and sister Hope Gantner and her fiancé, Eric Dorsey. She is also survived by her paternal grandmother, Margaret Gantner; mother-in-law, Diane (Dan) Childs; father-in-law, Todd Rempe; brothers-in-law Nick (Rikki Jo) Rempe, and Jake Rempe; along with aunts Helen (Jim) Naert, Nancy (Bill) Bright, Cindy (Lew) Rhoades, and Paula Quiniola; uncles Patrick (Mary Lou) Finn, Mike (Carol) Finn and Craig (Mary) Gantner; along with many extended family, friends, and public followers. Faith was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Delphine and Wendell Finn; and paternal grandfather, Calvin Gantner.
