She adored her six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
Maran grew up in Carroll, Iowa, and attended Creighton University in Omaha, NB, where she met her husband, James. During her marriage of 52 years, she and her family lived in Carroll, IA, Ames, IA, Murphysboro, IL, Iowa City, IA, Flagstaff, AZ, DeKalb, IL, and retired to Henderson, NV.
Our mother was a warm, caring grandmother, and great grandmother who was always looking for ways to help others. She was known for sharing her famous seasoned pretzels with everyone. Playing cards on a Sunday afternoon with “the card girls” was a ritual that took precedence over most everything. She developed a passion for puzzles during the pandemic to fill her time.
The viewing will be held at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. from 3pm - 6pm, Sunday, June 26th. A funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road at 10am, Monday, June 27th. Interment will be private.
